A Day at the Zoo

For those of you that haven't been to the San Diego Zoo in a while, here is your chance.

If you let me know of your interest, I can set it up.

FRIDAY  April 24th  is a prime time when crowds are small and we can roam the park in double decker busses with our animals ... and we can see the ones in the enclosures too.

Regular price for an adult is $46, but depending on numbers we have discounts available.

If we have enough cars we can carpool to and fro or perhaps get a bus rented ... this is a TBD issue. The Zoo is close.

More details will be available as we get closer.

Here is the Zoo Web siie:  http://zoo.sandiegozoo.org/

There is also an app for the Androis or the iPhone at the stores ....

Some Fun Competition at the Links !!!

On Sunday, April 26, 2015, we are gathering at the Riverwalk Golf Club to enjoy great food and to visit and reminisce with our SBHS classmates. Our graduation was 52 years ago, and we don’t want this fun experience to end. It doesn’t have to. With so many things to do in San Diego, what are we going to do? HOW ABOUT 18 HOLES OF GOLF?

The Riverwalk Golf Club encompasses three nine-hole layouts. We will be playing two of them. The usual green fee for 18 holes is $89, but for us, Riverwalk is extending a rate of $59. This rate includes cart, range balls, and lunch.

Our golf tourney begins promptly at 11 am on Monday (April 27), but I recommend you arrive early and warm up by hitting the included bucket of balls. This will be a “best ball” tourney, not the PGA Tour. I don’t know about you, but I need all the help I can get.

If this sounds like fun, send me an email. In your email, let me know what your level of play is, so I can pair up those of similar abilities. If you have questions, ask away. Your questions will be added to the FAQ section below.

FAQs:

  1. I don't want to bring my clubs. Does Riverwalk GC rent clubs?

Yes. Riverwalk GC rents left and right-handed clubs and women's clubs. All clubs are Taylor Made. Clubs rent for $55, and rental includes two sleeves of balls. I don't know whether the balls are Titleist Pro V1s or recycled kludges. If this is important to you, let me know, and I will find out.

  1. Is there a dress code?

Yes. Collared shirts are required. Shorts are acceptable, but no denim is allowed.
